The lockhopper system for granular poly uses solids flow control valves which can start, stop and modulate the silicon flow and low leak rate ball valves with built in purges to allow the lockhopper to drop pressure and cycle through purges before dropping its contents to silicon receiver drum or hopper. No metal parts contact the silicon and the valves and purges are controlled from a local PLC with touch screen controls. The solids flow control valves have been tested to over 20,000 cycles without failure.
